Alfresco Design Keysborough

Contemporary class in Keysborough. Keep the weather at bay with a customised design, from one of the leading Alfresco Builders in Melbourne.

Project Overview

Once upon a time there was an open deck, with weathered timber and no shade… And NOW there’s an automated roof system, a wall-mounted TV screen, a tiled low-set Gas Fireplace, and a fantastic Alfresco to simply kick-back and relax in!

“The owners of this Alfresco in Melbourne came to us with a dream – and that was to create a new entertainment area at the rear of their existing home.

We listened carefully to their brief, honed a design that was cost-effective and contemporary, and set about making sure that their vision became a reality!”

Mr. Matt Goodie, the Managing Director of Custom Outdoor Living, took great pride in designing this project. “As seasoned Alfresco Builders and Designers in Melbourne, I could see such potential to make an enormous difference to what was an exposed and tired space.

Making it inviting – by adding a cedar-lined ceiling, enhanced by the dramatic voids that house the overhead automated louvres, and encasing everything with a rendered parapet design – worked a treat.

We added a timber mantle as a centrepiece in the stone-look divide, with open metal designer screens on either side (to block out the neighbouring property). It just blended so well, and the owners were delighted with the results.

One of our past Alfresco clients likened having the same type of rain-sensored, louvre roof system installed (in her build) as being akin to ‘being at the Etihad Stadium when the weather turns sour’.

Seamlessly, the furniture is protected, the rainfall becomes immaterial, and the party goes on!

We were careful, in this project, to engineer a Sure Foot footing system (after finding that the soil report was poor), and added an internal box spout system, as well, to comply with the Plumbing Code.”

Rain, hail or shine there’s now privacy, light and shade in this Contemporary Keysborough Alfresco, and a relaxed space for a BBQ, a quiet drink, or just a place to contemplate your navel.

By having the capacity to open the roof above the BBQ allows the heat to naturally rise and dissipate, without the need for a rangehood, and the original decking was able to be preserved with a new lick of stain to bring it back to a fresh and new look.

“We’re all about working with our clients to find unique outdoor living solutions that work with what is already in existence. There’s no need to demolish a functional area entirely, in some circumstances.

Viewing your home with a creative and innovative eye makes all the difference.
